Responsible for Training Delivery across the Reconnaissance and Armoured Tactics Division, providing Phase 2 and Phase 3 Tactical Training to Combat AFV and Recce commanders. Instigated a robust Quality Improvement Plan and managed a £400K contract to refine Training Needs Analysis and refresh course design across all 7 courses, bringing increased rigour to the development of junior commanders. Provided practical leadership to instructors across the Division through teaching and coaching on courses where appropriate. Took the initiative to draft updated doctrine for use by Armour and Armoured Infantry at sub-unit level. Managed the process to smoothly re-subordinate the organisation across the chain of command. Show less Selected for command of an 18-tank Challenger 2 Squadron, taking responsibility for all aspects of its performance. Led by example, fostered a collaborative, resolute ethos balancing the needs of the team with those of individuals; as a result, delivered strong performances on key training events and achieved remarkably high levels of personnel retention. During this period, the Squadron completed a full training season including AFV ranges, CT1 in the synthetic and live environments and CT2 at BATUS; we also trained and deployed as the OPFOR Tank Coy to support training for the Lead Armoured BG; this was a Training Support task but was approached as an additional opportunity to pursue excellence, resulting in a noticeable improvement in core skills. Show less Worked for Commander BATUS to provide Combined Arms Battle Group training within a Brigade context. Planned and delivered four 15-day Live Simulation exercises annually with constrained resources, against the specific requirements of Manoeuvre Brigade Commanders. Each exercise involved hundreds of vehicles and up to 1500 soldiers and was supported by a minimum of 6 separate civilian contractors, all requiring daily coordination and liaison. Responsible for every aspect of exercise planning, from arranging the production of Operational Staff Work to the allocation of simulation equipment. Show less
