  Change & Communications Lead - Integra SAP Implementation

  The Integra SAP implementation was one of the largest technical undertakings for TransCanada since their merger with Nova. Affecting 3500 employees and leaders across North America in every aspect of the business. I worked with a strong team to build a creative and comprehensive change program to support leaders and employees as all processes and systems transformed the organization. Conceived "Joe" (a fictional Field Technician character) - a strategic thread that wound together key messaging with greater simplicity, relevance and understanding to 3,500 affected employees in all communication and promotional pieces. As a result, they could better comprehend the "big picture" and their new found place in the organization at large.Beginning my career as a Senior Communication Advisor, I earned steadily-advancing responsibilities as a Senior Communication Lead - Content Management Program; a Senior Communication Lead - Intranet Optimization, and a Senior Communication Lead - LMS Implementation before stepping into the above-mentioned Change & Communications Lead role.   After the Columbia Pipeline acquisition, I was promoted into this newly-created role to support the objective of a single TransCanada brand with aligned processes and systems. In leading, motivating, and inspiring a team of change resources, I also guided the IS Integration leadership team to apply strategies that successfully supported changes across the entire organization. KEY CONTRIBUTIONS:* strategically planned and delivered a change program for the extremely-ambitious IS Integration Project, which comprised the consolidation of 450 applications, key Infrastructure, and Services across the newly-acquired Columbia Pipeline. I supported the IS Integration team to bring this project in on time and under budget. * engaged key functional experts to deliver face-to-face presentations in Houston, TX; Charleston, WV; and Calgary, AB on how the SAP implementation would impact both leaders and employees. This approach served as the catalyst for huge leaps forward in gaining across-the-board trust and understanding for the impact of these changes involving more than 7,000 employees. I participated as an Integration Management Office (IMO) member to support Day One activities. TransCanada Pipelines has an exciting and fascinating history. Having the opportunity to interview over 100+ past and current employees provided a view of key pieces of the company's history that could only be told by the people who were there. "Doing the Right Things" looks back at the big plans, uncertain times and resilience and renewal the organization went through during that decade.
