  Paid Work Experience

  In January 2017, I won the Build AKL competition which offered finalists four weeks paid work experience with large companies within the construction Industry. At the age of 16 I worked alongside Downer NZ, learning things from multiple different departments, and gaining insight towards what it's really like working in the construction industry.

  Hoyts

  In this role I worked as part of the Hoyts Cinema crew, where I was responsible for cleaning cinemas, and serving customers with ticket and food/beverage purchases. I also worked at the Ben n’ Jerry’s station where I prepared customer's orders, cleaned the station, and ensured all ingredients were continuously stocked up.

  Mathematics Tutor

  As a mathematics tutor I would interact with multiple students at a time, all of which would be different age groups, with varying learning abilities and needs. As a result, alongside being confident in mathematics, having effective communication skills were crucial for this role. Not only was I there to aid them in their education, but I also had to create a supportive and positive learning environment for all students to further their growth.

  This role was a fixed term contract and involved the following:- Collecting property data from selected industrial areas (Penrose, Mount Wellington, Avondale), in regards to vacancies. - Being thorough with noting aspects such as construction, refurbishments and changes in tenancies.- Using Excel to present the data collated.

  Junior Property Manager

  This position involved holding viewings for potential tenants and conducting inspections, as well as anything else which may have benefited senior property managers. A broad skillset was required to be successful in this role including communication, time management, being able to use and understand certain softwares/applications relevant to property management, and being organised.
