      Started as a Test Engineer with Gaming Laboratories Australia (GLA) and was later promoted to Assistant Technical Manager of the South Australian laboratory. These roles included the testing and evaluation of gaming equipment against a variety of Australian and International Standards, Regulations and Rules for Gaming Equipment. Achievements included both the promotion to Assistant Technical Manager with oversight of other test staff and being given responsibility for management of all testing work for one of the laboratory’s major manufacturing clients.       Provided support to the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) in the role of Technical Manager. In addition to the expected technical and staff management duties this role included include liaising with government regulators regarding the design and content of their technical and regulatory standards for gaming and gambling and liaising with manufacturers regarding technical issues raised during the testing process. Tested confiscated gaming equipment and provided technical descriptions of each machine’s operation during the testing process as expert witness testimony for use in police prosecutions. Trained and assisted government regulatory staff during the commissioning of several new casinos and their related control systems, gaming machines, and jackpot systems. Achievements included improvements to both the auditability and efficiency of the testing processes. This improved the reputation of the lab as we were able to provide better estimates and more consistent reporting to clients around the progress of their submissions. Show less

      On contract with BAE Systems through ITS to support their testing of the Airborne Warning & Control (AEW&C) Support Facility (ASF) on the RAAF’s Wedgetail project. Developed, updated and reviewed both development and acceptance test procedures and analysis reports. Participated in formal test witnessing, test grooming, record runs and the preparation of formal reports on testing performed. Additionally was involved in systems engineering processes related to thread and scenario development and interpretation of requirements. In this role was frequently involved in discussion meetings with the customer providing technical input in respect of negotiating the agreed test methodologies for the ASF. Show less

      On contract with the SACE Board of SA through ITS (and later Rev IT) assisting them by preparing a test strategy and conducting the majority of testing for the new Java version of their primary internal legacy candidate and enrolment management software. Rapidly learned the operation of and underlying business rules associated with the legacy application that was being replaced and the associated SQL database structure. Reviewed the specification to identify potential issues and or missing functionality provided in the legacy application prior to commencement of the software development process. Developed test strategy and plan for the application and conducting the majority of the testing. Mentored and trained SACE Board’s test personnel. Liaised with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and Users as required.
