    • Alerton

      Sept 2001 - Nov 2004
      NSW Engineering and Operations Manager

NSW Engineering & Operations Manager Alerton Australia is a Melbourne based Building Automation Company seeking to set up a Sydney operation. I joined the team as the second member with the intention to assist in the growth of the company in this market place. The company has grown to eight staff in Sydney and three in the ACT and completed numerous Building Automation, Access Control and CCTV projects during this time. Alerton Australia has also achieved a rating of 92nd in the BRW fastest 100 companies for growth for the 2003 period. Whilst primarily employed as the Engineering & Operations Manager my role is a hands on role and all aspects of the business are dealt with as required from Sales, Engineering, Service and Contractor Management. My primary task in Engineering is to take a project from the receipt of the purchase order, design and document the control system, liaise and negotiate with contractors and clients regarding installation requirements, issue suitable orders for contractors and equipment, roll out the project within the time restraints, engineer and write programs as required to control building mechanical plant and deliver a proven Building Automation system as per the relevant design specification. Deliver Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the project upon completion of all works. During my period with Alerton Australia we have moved in to permanent premises and begun to build a strong customer base. The additional staff have adopted various roles in the branch and so a suitable administration system has had to be developed for the safe storage of all office documentation and correspondence. • TAC Pacific Pty Ltd

      Nov 2004 - Jun 2007

Operations Manager, TAC Energy Solutions, Australia Following on from the success of Energy Based solutions implementation, TAC globally developed an Energy Solutions Division providing Energy Performance Contracting solutions to their clients. Successful implementation of the strategies has seen great success in the USA and Europe and following in the same fashion TAC Pacific has created a new business division, TAC Energy Solutions. I was selected to head up the operational side of the business and my tasks include the Auditing of client sites and buildings to generate and Preliminary Energy report highlighting potential energy savings strategies. Should the client agree to move forward then the site is subject to a Detailed Audit in which the potential savings are confirmed by means of site baseline and simulation tests and benchmarking. If the client is then happy to continue the client enters a Performance Guaranteed Energy Contract. This contract covers the implementation of proposed energy conservation measures and the project is fully funded by the savings generated. Whilst currently being involved in all aspects of the Auditing and Contract Procurement process I am also tasked with the growth of the Engineering aspects of the business. A structured Project Development Group is being built to deal with the Auditing and Energy Conservation Measure implementation whilst a Performance Assurance Support Services group is being developed to give ongoing support and to provide the critical Measurement and Verification process during the Performance Contract period. As the new division is a national operation I am currently travelling interstate as required to carry out the necessary duties involved in the solutions and auditing processes. The role out of the new business division is being closely supported by the TAC Americas Energy Solutions Division and regular communications are maintained between the two teams. Show less E-Services Specialist The role of E-Services Specialist is a newly created role that has been developed to allow the company to provide a ‘value added’ service to their clients. In this role I am tasked with the auditing of existing clients buildings and producing ongoing reports of their energy usage. From these reports I provide solutions to save energy by offering various optimisation programs to the client. These savings are achieved via the Building Automation System in the form of reprogramming of various aspects of controlled equipment such as Cooling, Heating and Lighting to reduce energy usage whilst not affecting the comfort and safety of the building occupants. In addition to the auditing of buildings I was tasked with the setup of a Web Based Access Portal for the clients to access these reports. This web access has been set up to allow the clients to view, via password access, their own building or buildings data and see not only energy issues but also any maintenance requirements identified during routine site maintenance by the companies Service Department. Access, again by password, to the web site by Service Personnel will give a more in depth level of access allowing them to record or remove items as works are completed on a site. I am also tasked as the Woolworths EMS Account Manager. This is a national contract that has just been completed and is running through a warranty period. It covers control of Woolworths store lighting on a national basis, approximately 750 stores. Control is made accessible via a setup of regional server computers based in the Woolworths Data Centre. Woolworth’s staff can access via a web interface onto the system and adjust store lighting times as required. This project has proven to be a great energy saving project for Woolworths. New stores are added to the system as they are built or refurbished. Show less
