    • A.P. Moller - Maersk

      Jan 2011 - now

As a strategic business partner, I collaborate with the Area MD, Head of Product, and Head of Sales to optimize the local services profit and loss statement, drive cross and up-selling opportunities, and maximize the sales pipeline for value creation. Additionally, I am accountable for budgeting, planning, and forecasting activities, as well as providing comprehensive monthly financial reports and explanations on actuals. Through conducting Weekly Business Reviews and contributing to the Monthly Business Review with insightful analysis from various stakeholders, I excel at uncovering underlying causes and delivering compelling narratives that drive informed decision-making. Show less My primary responsibility was to facilitate the seamless integration of critical compliance measures such as Anti-corruption, Foreign Trade Control, and Competition Law into the local business operations. I provided unwavering support to the compliance department by spearheading the implementation of various compliance initiatives. As the first point of contact on the ground, I actively identified potential compliance issues and alerted the Compliance team, escalating any problems as necessary, to ensure proactive and timely resolution. Show less My role was to provide business partner support to the MD, Head of Local Services, and Head of Sales. I was responsible for budgeting, planning, and forecasting activities, as well as remittance management and providing comprehensive monthly Area financial information and explanations on actuals. Through conducting Weekly Business Reviews and contributing to the Monthly Business Review through analysis and inputs from various stakeholders, I was instrumental in identifying critical insights and trends that drove informed decision-making. In my capacity as the Market Share team leader, I played a key role in managing and leading the team to success. Furthermore, I supported the development of business cases and was the owner of the Local Authority Matrix. Show less I was tasked with driving value creation by conducting deep dive analysis on all drivers behind the success of sales deployment. My primary focus was to ensure transparency on whether each Sales Executive was meeting minimum requirements, implementing clear actions to improve performance when needed, and identifying and escalating any structural barriers. Additionally, I leveraged my financial insight and expertise to influence business priorities and steer the overall direction of the cluster. Through analytical work that constructively challenged the status quo, I partnered with the business to improve Maersk Line profitability. As the finance data steward, I ensured that cluster results and performance measures were based on relevant financial information and took corrective action when necessary to improve reporting quality of agency and operational costs. Finally, my strong understanding of cost drivers within Inland operations allowed me to take ownership of cost development and make informed decisions to optimize results. Show less As the leader of the controller team, my primary responsibility was to manage cost recovery and oversee Demurrage & Detention and customer billing activities. I ensured that the controllers met with sales orders to focus on invoice accuracy and forecasted monthly costs while identifying areas for immediate cost improvement on an annual basis. Additionally, I directed a team of over three cost analysts to optimize results. In addition to my leadership role, I also created two software systems that streamlined operations and improved efficiency. L2C was an integrated working environment server that replaced Sygea and included tools for trucking monitoring, local intermodal cost control, and local canteen orders. To further enhance its capabilities, I added an invoicing module for Import BL exchange activity and Export activity via script to upload in SAP using winshuttle and create Sales orders for local and liner charges. On the other hand, SYGEA was a software system I created to manage cost recovery for all intermodal activities. Show less I was responsible for developing statistics and conducting analyses on the operational and financial management of container handling and transport operations. Additionally, I oversaw the implementation of a process for intermodal service in Abidjan and established and monitored environmental controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations. To improve operational efficiency and streamline processes, I created a centralized database that was accessible to various operational departments. Finally, I played a key role in optimizing company costs and intermodal methods through pre- and post-routing operations, ultimately contributing to the company's success. Show less Early in my career, I joined Maersk in the OTC (Order to Cash) department. In this role, I took responsibility for controlling disbursements related to contracts for land transport of containers, specifically for both Import and Export operations. My day-to-day activities involved tracking invoices, studying supplier statements, and managing claims to ensure accurate billing and payment. Additionally, I was responsible for invoicing transport of export containers and local charges at import, ultimately ensuring that all financial aspects of the container transport process were handled efficiently and effectively.
