  I have been a sales assistant for Boots opticians at their Oxford Street Shop in London. Where I was involved in the sales of glasses and every day items and liaised with customers dealing with their concerns. I was also involved with the eye test appointments, becoming aware of the work of an optician. I learnt how to communicate with people and to handle difficult situations in a calm and cooperative manner.   I worked in a unisex clothing retail shop in Shepherd’s Bush, London. I was given the sole responsibility of buying stock in the UK, Egypt, India and Bangladesh. I arranged meetings with prospective suppliers negotiating contracts and ameliorated any disputes ensuring ongoing business and contract renewals.   Laboratory Assistant

  I worked as a medical laboratory assistant assisting medical technicians who handled and tested patient blood samples in the haematology department. I witnessed how blood counts and specific cell profiles were used alongside reference ranges. I had the opportunity to ask the doctors questions of interest.In the laboratory I learnt how to work under pressure to meet all deadlines and how to learn from supervisors efficiently. I observed how test solutions and samples were dispersed by automated systems. I also witnessed antibody and antigen tests.I learnt how red and white blood cell counts were interpreted as markers of blood infections. Show less
