      Conducted psychosocial assessments, assisted with discharge planning and provided case management to patients on the following units : Infant and Toddlers, Infectious Disease, Medical-Surgical, Nephrology, Burn, Orthopedic, Observation, NICU and Emergency Department. Worked as a liaison with agencies such as the Department of Human Services, Children's Protective Services (CPS), law enforcement, foster care and insurance companies. Consulted with doctors, nurses, psychiatrists and other medical staff to evaluate patients' needs and discharge summary. Worked with a multidisciplinary team of Nephrology specialist to assist families with adjustment to diagnosis, coping with a chronic illness and non-compliance issues. Facilitated CPS and Police referrals when child abuse or neglect was suspected. Provided referrals to families for food, housing, transportation, clothing assistance and financial/insurance issues. Assisted in conflict management to dissolve hostile situations and provided crisis intervention for sexual abuse, rape and suicide assessments. Conducted pre-transplant psychosocial evaluations for children who were listed on the kidney transplant waiting list. Provided direct therapeutic counseling, support and referrals to children exposed to domestic violence with the Child Witness to Violence Project. Assisted camp counselors, provided supervision and offered support to children diagnosed with HIV/Aids and their siblings with Project Challenge’s summer camp.       As the current Executive Director of SOCIAL ISSUE SUPPORT FOR HER (SIS-HER), I oversee the non-profit's mission to empower women and children affected by social injustices, with a focus on domestic violence and human trafficking. I lead community engagement initiatives, training sessions, and advocacy efforts to educate and involve the community in addressing these issues. By establishing key partnerships with the Detroit Police, Homeland Security, churches, and local organizations, we amplify our impact and support. I coordinate the development of programs aimed at raising awareness and promoting community action against social challenges. Notable projects include partnering with Homeland Security to provide mental health and well-being support to women and children affected by human trafficking, spearheading prevention and awareness programs addressing immigration injustices, domestic violence, and human trafficking, and delivering customized training to over 4,000 community members globally. I developed and implemented the 'I AM Safe' curriculum in Detroit Public Schools, training over 2,000 students and educators, and organized train-the-trainer sessions for individuals with lived experience of human trafficking. Additionally, I designed and executed the 'Keepin' U Safe' campaign to prevent child sexual exploitation, and the 'Unlocked: A Sex Trafficking PSA,' collaborating closely with youth focus groups and individuals with experience of human trafficking.
