  Up for a Change Drama Society was aimed at breaking stereotypes and eliminating typecasting from our society. There has always been a stigma around that men should go to work and women should always do the household chores and devote themselves to their families. Even now, in typical households in towns and villages, women are seen working arduously in the kitchen while men sit in living rooms as in-charge of the house. But in the 21st century, we have witnessed progress where women came out as stronger selves and fought for equal rights and more acknowledgement. So, we thought, why don’t we contribute to this change? We started writing scripts that matched the scenarios of typical Indian households in earlier times, when male-dominated society was prevalent. After writing scripts, we interchanged them with new ones where we reversed genders. Women became the dominant individuals in society. This helped break the stereotypical stigma that had been a part of our society for years. We wrote around twenty scripts in the span of a year and performed at several stage shows, schools, and universities. Show less
