In April 2013 LTH were given Major Trauma Centre Status, as the service developed and progressed it was agreed to expand the data analyst team. Having shown an interest in progressing within the department I was approached by the Consultant Network lead to undertake this role. I have taken this role on with great enthusiasm and interest. The remit consists of:- Being a scribe during a Major Trauma - this entails being available to support the major trauma team during all trauma calls. Ensuring high quality data capture.- I am then responsible on a daily basis for collating and entering these details into the Trauma Audit and Research Network database - for which I have attended a comprehensive training course provided by TARN.- Along with the Trauma network nurse we follow patients through their pathway, forming relationships and providing advice and support.- As the MTC we work collaboratively with the 4 trauma units - this included providing advice and support in regard of data capture and quality.- I arrange and coordinate the Trauma Network meetings for the MT Clinical and Management Leads.- Liaise with TARN on a weekly basis- Provide reports and data to the MTC and units to provide awareness with the aim to drive improvements. Show less As personal assistant to the General Manager within the Emergency Department my job role was very varied. I was responsible for:- Calendar and diary management- Arranging and co-ordinating meetings- Taking minutes- Reviewing and validating the 4 hour target breaches on a daily basis.- Generating reports- Creating databases- Providing a point of contact for all management queries within the department- Supported the clinical governance mortality and morbidity reviews. This list is not an exhaustive list of all my duties but gives a flavour of the role and responsibilities.Whist within this post I worked closely with the Trauma team and was offered an opportunity to be seconded into a data analyst post. Show less Whilst employed by Brook Street, I worked for the Health Records Department within the scanning unit at Chorley and South Ribble HospitalMy role included:- Transforming patient records into electronic files.- I collected notes from around the hospital.- The notes were then taken apart and filed into a systematic file structure - this process was referred to as file prep- A data quality review was then undertaken of each case note structure.- The notes were then sent for scanning before they were sent for scanning. The standards of compliance within this process were very closely monitored and I always performed to a very high standard.Recognition was given to work ethic and standards and as a result I was offered a fantastic opportunity to spend some time developing my skills working within the Medical Legal Department.Within this role I dealt with patient records and claims from patients and solicitors. This job expanded my knowledge on the importance of good communication and dealing with very confidential cases. I undertook information governance training. The role was critical in capturing and receiving income to the trust.I left this post to take up the role of PA to the General Manager in Emergency Department Show less
