  My background also includes 20 years administering all aspects of the startup and successful development of my former small business, Hoosier Orchid Company, which has given me broad experience in strategic planning, negotiating, marketing, revenue growth, and financial controls. While growing my business to a preeminent place in my industry, I demonstrated strong leadership skills in producing marketing materials, writing, public speaking, creating positive personal relationships, personnel management and customer service. Hoosier Orchid Company offered one of the largest selections of seed-grown species orchids in the world. Our plants were recognized as high-quality and easy to grow, and were sold mail order, at orchid events and at our Indianapolis nursery. Our catalog was widely regarded as the best in the orchid industry, and many of our plants won prestigious awards around the US.   Served as chief executive with full operational control of 5500+ member private social and recreational club with primary focus on aquatics and tennis. Developed policies, plans and procedures; oversaw finances, budgeting and accounting; administered diverse operations; led and managed staff of up to 165 employees; ensured exceptional customer experiences and service. Created positive personal relationships with diverse Member base. Partnered with volunteer governing Board of Directors to market, position and manage Club.• Grew Member base by 3.4% during tenure. Enhanced Member satisfaction and participation through operational excellence and new communication methods. Developed and responded to multiple Member surveys to verify performance. Reinstituted inactive committee structure and successfully populated with over 60 volunteers, increasing volunteer base and offsetting operational expenses.• Developed and administered operating and capital budgets. Monitored financial performance, made corrections as necessary. Reported to Board and Finance Committee on regular basis.• Created numerous Club policy documents for Board approval including Employee Handbook, Emergency Action Plan, Director & Volunteer Orientation Manual, Employee Health & Safety Policy, Privacy Policy, Child Protection Policy, Alcohol Policy, Manager on Duty Policy and Financial Control Policy.   I am honored to be the third CEO of HCCF. As CEO I administer all operations and manage all aspects of the Community Foundation under authority of the Board of Directors. I've been a resident of Hendricks County for over 30 years and am pleased to partner with an organization making a profound difference in our community. The Community Foundation has made grants of more than $24M to benefit Hendricks County since 1993.The Hendricks County Community Foundation strives to be a trusted community partner in understanding needs, aligning resources, and empowering people to address today’s priorities and create lasting impact together. The Community Foundation manages assets of over $31 million in a collection of funds created by individuals, families, businesses and organizations for charitable purposes. In 2023, the Community Foundation gave over $1.6 million in grants to charitable organizations and scholarships to local students.
