      Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts and Rhetoric Minor in Film Production

      Activities and Societies: Was on the debate team with Barry (Barack) Obama. In 1979 I took a class at Oxy called "The Art of Persuasion". There were 14 students in the class. It was a Socratic-style seminar series. At one point early in the quarter, someone quipped, "I bet one of us could be President (of the United States) in the year 2000!" I remember this distinctly because in my youthful naivete, I was sure they were talking about me! But my classmate Barry (Barack) Obama, took it to heart, and history was made.       Book People is the largest metaphysical bookstore west of the Mississippi. Interesting books would consistently fall off the shelf in front of me when I was "shelving" and contain on the page the exact message I was seeking at the moment. Working at Book People I managed the monthly newsletter/catalog, created, organized and delivered five annual author appearances and did community outreach. This was an amazing time of self-growth and empowerment and gave me an extraordinary foundation in community building. I will always hold Phil Sansone and Rita Green in high regard. Show less

      As a Care Coordinator and Liaison, I traveled extensive in the tri-city area of Northern Colorado working with referral agents in Skilled Nursing Facilities, Assisted Livings and Independent Living communities seeking out and helping families facing end-of-life issues. I had the privilege of working closely with my clinical team, often scheduling and attending "care conferences" where difficult decisions were made. Built community relationships with targeted audiences through presentations, training and one-on-one personal focus. Spokesperson for the company in the Northern Colorado region. Elevated agency’s image through upgrade of marketing materials, sales tools, and computer technology for account management and reporting. Supervised team of volunteers. Provided leadership and training in selling strategies, operations, and systems information. Coaching probationary reps and volunteers, equipping several with winning tools.When serving as a hospice liaison and care coordinator, it was my duty to grow census, schedule hospice admissions, complete the admission with the family and/or patient, and then coordinate the plan of care. In that scenario, it was my job to track every player’s schedule (sometimes upwards to 30 people), know their unique preferences, understand their function, prioritize the situation and deftly execute the admission with a thousand moving variables.To accomplish all this, I built tracking sheets, sent requests via web portals and sent hundreds of text and voice messages. At the end of each admission, I logged reports on process and results that became part of the patients’ ‘plan of care’. Being an ‘administrator’ is second-nature to me and a skill-set that comes easily from years of practice.As the care coordinator, I must interface with all players who have a huge investment in how the scenario plays out.
