  Initially working as the sole education support in a newly opened school assisting students with additional needs including sensory processing needs, Autism Spectrum Disorder, emotional regulation, behavioural needs and physical disabilities from prep to grade six. Key tasks included creating resources such as visual timetables, social stories, sensory and craft boxes and assisting student's with their learning in alternative formats such as using SnapWords, running groups and facilitating play. I collaborated with school staff to apply for a grant and create a sensory room for students. I attended independent learning meetings with some students' parents, leadership, teachers and occupational therapists to gain a deeper understanding on how to best support the individual student's in their learning and goals.I attended professional development about Growth Mindset, the Zones of Regulation and Habits of Mind, supporting children with Dyslexia.   I completed 2 x 165 hour blocks of honours research placement within the Persistent Pain Management Service , a multidisciplinary ambulatory service operating from the Mornington Centre.I had the opportunity to observe group and individual pain management sessions covering a range of topics including-Education on the neuroscience of pain -Graded Motor Imagery-Sensory Processing/Sensory Modulation-Acceptance and Commitment Therapy -Mindfullness -Mindful movement -Identifying values and goals I was able to practice inputting initial assessment and progress note documentation into Electronic Medical Records and observed 90 minute multidisciplinary initial assessments with a psychologist, physiotherapist and occupational therapist.
