  Oracle database professional in a wide variety of business applications often with a focus on transportation, traffic management and traveler information. The primary role often consisted of analysis, modelling, development and administration of the Oracle databases, as well as archiving, logging and backup tasks. I also have some experience with Java/Groovy, often under a JBoss environment. Recently I've also been focusing more on developing user interfaces and reporting tools using Oracle Application Express (APEX).   I've been part of the ICT team of De Persgroep, a major media company. I initially started as part of a team, responsible for all IT related aspects of advertisement. This went from making and registering price offers and orders, over various production related processes till invoicing. In this function, there was also a lot of focus on reporting and the necessary data mining and data transformation tasks that go along with it. After 3 years I moved to a more technical data oriented position with 100% focus on development as per my wishes. This covered both OLTP and data warehouse systems. The main goal often consisted of collecting data from various input sources and transforming and preparing the data for further analysis using the power of the Oracle database, as well as third party utilities such as Talend and others. Evolving landscapes and demands also often required interacting with Big Data systems. Show less
