  Born and raised in the Bronx during the 70s provided the perfect ingredients for a lifetime of visual arts. During the latter part of the decade young Blacks and Tainos were creating the foundations of the Hip Hop culture. Evan gravitated to the visual element of the culture, graffiti. During his teens, Evan made it his mission to spray paint every surface imaginable all while avoiding rival graf artists, active third rails and the police. After years of developing his appreciation for color theory, perspective, lettering and character composition, Evan realized that the thrill wasn’t worth the chance of being caught or killed. He found solace in painting other surfaces from canvases to bedroom walls, to jean jackets. Formally studying art as an undergraduate in North Carolina exposed Evan to a wide variety of mediums and techniques. While enhancing his skills in mediums such as oils, screen printing and clay, Evan furthered his mastery with acrylic and aerosol enamel. His style possesses the bold, vibrant colors reminiscent of graffiti art. His work depicts his social views, spiritual beliefs, and the beauty of Black people and culture.   The 100 words of wisdom exhibit

  Co-founder

  This special photo-exhibition combines body art, photography and journalism to capture the wisdom of our elders. Successfully launched in New York during 2017, this intergenerational community-based art project documents the oral histories of mature adults from all walks of life. Me and my team are prepared to replicate this project in various towns, cities and neighborhoods throughout the United States and beyond.
