  Harbour Village Marina, Bonaire: In 1992/93 was a sleepy, semi dilapidated fishing port. The spec was to create a boutique marina, the focal point of a 5 star resort and yet maintain the local flavour and provide dockage for the colorful fishing boats. Bonaire, as a whole, is a marine national park so environmental considerations were prime.Over about a 4 year period a spectacular marina was created:120 Berths,mixed size up to 40mSpa and pool in conjunction with the resortA selection of restaurants, surrounding the marina and resort dock accessWorkshop and service centerImport business for marine goods and chandleryComplete rebuild and redesign of docks and marina areaClose workings with the diving side of the resortConstant communication with the resort GM and ownerAccounting liaison with the resortAt all times consideration had to be given to the resort and guests, so close communications were built. many friendships remain to this day.At the same time I was involved with the running of the Swan 57 Abracadabra (owned by the resort/marina owner).   As South East Asia's first female Certified Marina Manager I was running a premier 320 Berth Marina able to accommodate yachts of 100m LOA. Under my tenure the facility developed from basic facilities, run from a container, to fully serviced docks and all associated shore side services, such as workshops for engineers, shipwrights and electricians along with a pool, gym, restaurant, various stages of office development and so much more.I was fully responsible for all aspects of day to day marina management & operations including but not limited to:• Staff management• Human Resources liaison• Close work & planning with maintenance department• Marketing & PR• Regular client liaison• Tenant management & leases• CSR programs• Customer account management/Aged Balance management• Overseeing of berth bookings and responsible for decision making.• Direct customer service• Management of the marina management software system• Handling vessels as needed• CAPEX• Operational Budgets• Marina development with associated shore side facilities• Set up & maintenance of marina policies, SOP’s, EMP’s, Rules, Contracts, registration documents etc• Management of the insurance for the complete facility• Involved in Way of finding and other signageI was also the public representative of Phuket Yacht Haven at Functions and events, home & overseas.
