Bronze award for Imagination & Courage Sanjeev Jain Nov 2013 Srinivas, This award is recognition is for your Imagination & Courage demonstrated during 7F9 exhaust frame conceptual design. Your ability to quickly understand the problem and coming up with workable ideas is appreciable. You demonstrated great zeal with imagination and courage during 7F9 EF conceptual studies; came up with ideas like shaft mounted blower, holes in EF strut and less number of seal teeth for shorter #2 bearing. These ideas has good potential to reduce product cost. Keep the… Show more Srinivas, This award is recognition is for your Imagination & Courage demonstrated during 7F9 exhaust frame conceptual design. With team members, you evaluated multiple possible options of inner barrel joint behavior, managed strut max temperature limits, thermal gradients on the outer barrel and robustness of strut cooling flow direction. Settled on a simple new concept to split the blower flow supply to cool the outer barrel directly and still keep the original design intent of a single blower configuration for the 7 series engines. The design successfully passed 7F 7 series EF PDR. Learning from the 7FA.05 engine test exhaust frame temperature prediction differences were also applied to keep exhaust frame safe in worst case scenarios like hot day, part load, minimum flows and hot steak. Keep up the good work! From Sanjeev Jain Show less
