I honed my skills in patient history taking, performing physical and systemic examinations, and collaborating with senior faculty to discuss differential diagnoses and order appropriate investigations. I acquired key clinical skills such as blood sampling, Ryle's tube insertion, Foley's catheterization, aseptic dressing, burns patient care, suturing, and suture removal.   During the clinical rotation in the Department of Adult Hematology and Oncology at The Cleveland Clinic, extensive exposure was gained in inpatient leukemia management. This rotation provided deep insights into various types of leukemias, including their presentations, diagnostic processes, management strategies, treatment plans, relapse management, and recent advancements in chemotherapy. The role involved active participation in clinical case presentations, topic discussions, multidisciplinary rounds, and noon conferences. Show less During the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology clinical rotation at The Cleveland Clinic, significant experience was gained under the mentorship of esteemed faculty. The rotation provided in-depth exposure to the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of hematological malignancies and solid tumors, including neuroblastoma, retinoblastoma, osteosarcoma, Ewing’s sarcoma, Wilms’ tumor, medulloblastoma, and desmoid tumors. Additionally, knowledge was acquired in managing benign hematological conditions such as sickle cell anemia, beta thalassemia, and iron deficiency anemia. In the outpatient clinic, two weeks were spent under the guidance of exceptional attendings, focusing on clinical diagnosis, recent research advancements, and the role of immunotherapy in managing solid tumors. Another two-week rotation on the consult service enhanced clinical skills in case taking, including history and physical examination, with responsibilities encompassing case presentations, management plan development, and active participation in discussions.
