For my secondary school work experience, I worked for engineering contractor KBR. During my time, I attended meetings where I learned about how oil and gas projects are developed, the various roles involved in an engineering project, as well as how risk is evaluated when procuring parts from various suppliers. Working at KBR gave me a good insight into the stages involved in engineering for a major project, from conception right through to operational start up.
