  Sept 1999 - now

  Programme management of DFID Pakistan’s response to the flash floods in Pakistan and support to conflict affected population of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and FATA. I managed 64 different projects with UN and local and international NGOs. I led the monitoring and evaluation of DFID funded projects and maintained good working relationships with DFID funded project stakeholders, identifying issues/challenges and take forward required action. I also provided effective management support to programme for Immediate Bilateral Support for Vital Transport and Education Infrastructure in Border Areas (Bridges and Prefabricated Schools). Contributed to the design and implementation of Financial Inclusion Programme and Punjab Economic Opportunities Programme. I conducted three annual reviews of the projects. I managed a strategic study on Access to Finance to provide baseline information for a range of interested organisations in Microfinance sector in Pakistan. As Deputy Departmental Finance Officer ensured accurate forecasting and expenditures of DFID Pakistan regular annual Admin and Programme budgets of £274 million. Show less • Provided effective support on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) System to 60 users of DFID Pakistan.• Acted as DFID Regional Trainer for Pakistan, Afghanistan Nepal and Bangladesh. Provided training to all DFID Pakistan users on DFID ICT systems. Prepared training manuals which were adopted by a number of DFID overseas offices.• Prepared annual ICT procurement plans.• Managed ICT contracts with local service providers.• Developed and successfully tested the first ever DFID Pakistan IT Business Continuity Plan (BCP). This was the first ever test in the DFID’s history. This exercise involved a thorough communication strategy with key stakeholders (local and international). A separate procurement plan was developed to support the implementation.• Established 5 emergency hubs in Islamabad as part of the emergency support.• Prepared and managed the implementation plan for moving DFID Pakistan ICT infrastructure from old to temporary and then to new building without any interruption to the users. These required planning, submissions to senior management, procurement of equipment and consultants for technical input.• Provided helpdesk support to DFID Pakistan users.• Developed and updated DFID Pakistan internal Web Page.
