  • Developed the toolkit of the data assimilation algorithm using MATLAB, which evolves the formulation of the Spherical Harmonics Expansion and Kalman Filter.• Visualized the upper atmospheric variabilities and investigated the physics-based theories under geomagnetic storms to explain the algorithm outputs. • Assisted approximately 50 students per term to complete the hands-on projects (Foam chair, trebuchet, and walking robots) in the mechanical design for innovation course, which includes building workflows, engineering drawings and controller codlings. • Managed the safety training for students on utilizing the lab tools and laser cutting machine. • Designed the prototype of the operation arm on the drone for collecting the tree samples.• Operated the Nvidia Jetson Xavier on-board computer to capture the presence of tree lichens, with the installation of a RealSense stereo camera on the drone.• Utilized OpenCV library to set the color and range filter to detect the tree lichens, implemented the Kalman filter to extract the location and reduce errors.

  Implemented and analyzed the coupled algorithm of numerical weather model: Whole Atmosphere Community Climate Model with thermosphere and ionosphere extension (WACCM-x) and the Data Assimilation Research Testbed (DART).
