May 2013 - Apr 2018As a Facility Manager, I assist in leading a team of 19 maintenance staff in the successful maintenance operation of our local 750,000 square foot health centre. In addition, I lead small and large scale construction/facility management projects for the health centre. Most recently I assisted in the planning and successful completion of: a new retail pharmacy; a renovation of a vacant space for a state-of-the-art cat scan; the redesign of a mental health wing for an 8 bed women's forensic program; modifications to existing longterm care spaces to accommodate program changes. The North Bay Regional Health Centre has 400+ beds; including 8 operating suites, a state of the art emergency department, long-term care, surgical and medical care, outpatient/inpatient rehabilitation services, acute psychiatry care, long term mental health care, child and adolescent mental health, women services, and a variety of outpatient programs and services. This site is a P3 (Public Private Partnership) arrangement. I assist in assuring our team meets contractual obligation and building maintenance requirements of our arrangement through KPI scoring and Performance Monitoring Reports. On top of my daily work routine, I am a committee member for Infection Prevention and Control, as well as an integral team member of the Infection Prevention and Control for Maintenance and Construction committee. I work daily with Occupational Health & Safety as well as Building Management Services and Facilities to ensure safety in our facility is a priority. I assist in assuring our team meets contractual obligations of our arrangement. I was integral in the successful development and implementation of a work order management system that monitors and tracks building maintenance requests, centred around our project agreement with NBRHC. Today I continue to lead the work order management system, tracking work orders from start to completion, ensuring work is assigned to maintenance staff and completed according to our agreement.In addition, I take on a variety of longterm projects as well as manage the day-to-day maintenance requests. I am the main contact with NBRHC staff and external vendors/contractors. I ensure preventative maintenance is assigned and completed monthly. I also direct and collaborate with team members to ensure effective teamwork, implementation of strategic initiatives, achievement of targeted outcomes and the effective and efficient use of resources within the portfolio.This position plays a key role in managing the overall operation and ongoing maintenance contract of the public- private partnership (P3) Facility between NBRHC and Plenary Health. I ensure the project service provider maintains facility and assets within, according to the output specifications outlined in the Project Agreement. More importantly, I provide critical management and oversight of the highly complex Project Agreement to ensure North Bay regional Health Centre receives maximum value of the contract, stipulated performance standards are maintained, performance penalties are enacted, and maintenance costs are allocated to the appropriate party. Show less At NBRHC, I manage and lead a team of Biomedical and Clinical Engineering Technologists. My team is responsible for the maintenance and repair of medical equipment/system in renal dialysis, medical device reprocessing department, emergency department, operating room, NICU and labour and delivery to name a few. In addition, I manage building & equipment lifecycle forecasting for the organization. I also project manage the execution of lifecycle objectives for the organization. In my portfolio, I am responsible for the building operations of 50 College Drive, Kirkwood Campus in Sudbury, King Street Campus and Devonshire Campus.
