      As section head, I was responsible for establishing, developing and managing a new sectoral programme and section:• Supported the Ministry of Social Affairs and others to set up mechanisms to fight child trafficking, sexual violence, exploitation and abuse.• Advocated for and support the development, implementation and monitoring of a legal framework in compliance with international legal instruments, leading to the finalisation and enactment of a Child Protection Code.• Provided technical assistance to various stakeholders in the child protection area (magistrates, social workers, government officials, etc.)• Supported NGOs providing protection, care and support to orphans and other children affected by HIV and AIDS. • Supported NGOs providing assistance and reintegration services to child victims of trafficking and other forms of exploitation.• Developed strategic collaboration with a wide range of partners (including government, NGOs, multilateral and bilateral partners) at central and regional/district levels.
