      Safety Administrator

I have completed 14 projects to increase personnel and ergonomic safety and was for 7 months of 2014 and 3 months of 2015, the only Plant Safety Department Representative. I have the knowledge and skills of the Tyson systems and am adaptable enough to learn the new programs and provide inputs to develop best practices. The scope of my projects range from Identifying and directing replacement of inadequate machine guarding, to development of a plan to reduce or where feasible eliminate Powered Industrial Truck and pedestrian interaction. I transferred all of our Chemical right to know documentation from a hard copy MSDS system to the GHS Compliant Online MSDS system. I am working with every General Production Manager and Supervisor to help them learn to use the OHSS Accident Reporting System, a computer database for 5 WHY investigations. While they are not the primary holders of Safety Documentation responsibility, I maintain good relationships with the maintenance team to facilitate timely repairs to unsafe equipment, train them on OSHA guarding requirements and provide guidance to allow them to develop ergonomic improvements, my goal in this is to empower them to take action on an item without specific direction and to be available to provide guidance or assistance to move their projects forward. I am currently learning the new Ergonomics reporting system THS and have all jobs in the system transferred from RPM and updated.Training conducted in group and one on one situations is a primary focus of my current position, under direction to expand the program I developed and implemented the Updated New Hire Safety Training program mirroring the OSHA 10 Hour Course amplified by site specific experiences and information. I am certified through Lift One for as a Trainer for Indoor and Outdoor Forklifts and Pallet Jack systems Ride on and Walk with models and through Ives/ United Rentals for training Scissor and Boom lift operators.
