As a freelance sports journalist, I attended sporting events, conducted interviews with high school, college, and amateur athletes, maintained detailed statistical data, and took live action photos to craft effective sports narratives and feature stories.

  As an AmeriCorps Local History Member under the Ohio History Service Corps and hosted at Shawnee State University, I assisted the Shawnee State Digital History Lab and other community organizations towards the goal of building capacity for their educational and public programming. I focused on planning special events, regional initiatives, heritage tourism, historic preservation, non-profit administration, community engagement, managing an augmented reality learning app and website, as well as collections care/digitization. I also activated, recruited and trained volunteers on best practices in museum, archives, public history, cultural heritage and long range planning. Show less As an AmeriCorps Community Surveyor under the Ohio History Service Corps and hosted by Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, I completed a survey of 100 historic properties within Scioto County. I identified and recorded historic themes and buildings, focusing on properties associated with African American history, women's history, labor history, and other under-represented groups. These 100 properties were included into the Ohio Historic Inventory. Ten other structures were submitted to the National Register of Historic Places for approval - including the Eugene McKinley Pool which was listed as of August of 2019. Show less

  As Entrepreneurship Program Coordinator for the SSU Kricker Innovation Hub, I am tasked with helping to build the Hub into a landmark facility in downtown Portsmouth, Ohio. Through event planning, program coordination, digital marketing, and more I am able to help promote entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation in our region. As an adjunct professor at Shawnee State University, I am devoted to developing students’ abilities to think and read critically, write and speak clearly, and better understand the relationship language and literature have to broader cultural issues.
