      Qualifying Exam Part 1 Accounting, Tax, Management Accounting, Finance and Auditing.

      In order to qualify as a chartered accountant a candidate must write and pass the qualifying exam part 1 set by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). This exam tests the candidates proficiency in the following areas: Accounting, Tax, Management Accounting, Finance and Auditing. I passed this exam on my first attempt.

      I had classes ranging between 20-30 students for four hours a week split into two, two hour sessions. During this session I assisted the students in providing them detailed explanations of the accounting concepts that they had learnt in the previous week.During this session the students would also attend having completed a number of examples and I would go through these examples during the session and answering any questions the students may have.

This involves evaluating the accuracy and validity of financial records and assessing the effectiveness of financial controls. This is to obtain reasonable assurance that the misstatement of the Annual Financial Statements of companies are unlikely.This occupation requires one to be able to adapt to situations as well as learn very quickly. This is due to the fact that one is required to learn the processes and systems within an entity very quickly and be able to develop procedures that will adequately provide me with the assurance.It also comprises coaching the incumbant Audit assistants on how to perform adequate procedures, so that they may complete their tasks at a top quality.The Senior is required to lead and co-ordinate the audit team. Identify potential issues with financial transactions and financial operating systems and communicate these timeously to client management with proposed solutions.All tasks were performed under deadline conditions.I apply extensively, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Audit Standard (IAS) ,SA Companies Act, Value Added Tax Act and Income Tax Act knowledge to audit engagement tasks. Perform the planning of audit engagements, which involves obtaining a detailed understanding of the client business.Identify and evaluate potential business and audit risks and formed appropriate strategies and approaches to address the risks identified.Perform the reporting and concluding of audit engagements, which involves providing a final audit opinion of the entities financial records.Evaluate key financial ratios and perform analytical reviews of the Statement of Financial Position and Statement of Comprehensive Income.
