      This is responsible, specialized security, informational, and managerial work directing, planning, organizing, and managing the day-to-day operations of the Senate Appointment Desks. Work includes ensuring that established protocol and rules are followed by all Capitol complex staff and visitors to the Senate wing of the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Visitor Center. Responsible for clearing official visitors, escorting senior-level officials, and issuing visitor badges. Directs the day-to-day operations of all Senate Appointments Desks. Implements objectives and policies established by the Sergeant at Arms; Serves as internal security check-point for all visitors to Senate leadership, other Capitol offices, and Senate Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) rooms, verifying credentials to ensure that only authorized people are admitted; acts as liaison to Capitol Police, informing them of scheduled Capitol appointments and assisting in enforcing Senate policies, procedures, and protocol. Interacts with Senate personal and Committee staff, other SAA offices, and other Senate Community partners to ensure smooth passage for guests, troubleshooting issues, and looking for improvements for interdepartmental compatibilities, efficiencies, and seamless transitions. Develops, implements, and monitors annual department budgets. Directs and manages department staff by assigning and reviewing work, providing guidance, setting priorities, assisting with problem resolution, reviewing and evaluating work, conducting performance reviews, and handling accountability and discipline.
