  Care Partner

  I had the opportunity to be a Care Partner at Unit 4East where I specialized in treating hematology and oncology pediatric patients. I report any abnormal findings to the nurse as well as answer call lights and aid in patient safety. I also collected patient specimens and POCT and assist in daily living activities such as feeding and bathing as needed. I was also assigned to be the Unit Assistant, answering phone calls and performing other administrative duties.

  I care for pediatric patients with acute and chronic health and surgical problems related to general, cardiothoracic and neurosurgery. I have been made as Charge Nurse, managing all patients and staff for the unit. I have also floated to Pediatric ICU and Neonatal ICU units, demonstrating knowledge and ability to care for those patient populations. I provide individualized family centered care and education on disease prevention and restorative measures. I have performed skin tests, immunizations, phlebotomy and initiation of peripheral venous access per hospital policy. I also observe and assess signs and symptoms of illness and initiate emergency procedures when indicated. Show less
