  An experimental approach was done to determine the effect of carburizing on different grades of free-cutting steel.Metallography observation and hardness measurements were conducted.Applied surface operations like grinding, polishing, and etching to observe the microstructure of the steel.Applied different heat treatments like annealing, normalizing and quenching to observe their effects on the microstructure.

  I received hands-on training on polymer processing techniques (Injection molding, extrusion, blending, etc.)I did a research-oriented project about a new class of polymers called Vitrimers, a new class of fully recyclable polymers.Information about the molecular bond swapping mechanism of Vitrimers and how they function on a molecular level was gathered. As well as their mechanical recycling and chemical recycling processes. Information about the different examples of these plastics, their respective applications, and how to employ current thermoplastic processes to industrialize them was also researched. Show less
