  Sold subscriptions over the phone for £20 each.Then after one week of this was elevated to ad sales - I had no training at all so after making about 400 phone calls to sell an ad, and when someone actually wanted to buy one - I didnt know what to do next so hung up the phone!

  One of the great experiences in my career was launching and running my own publishing company in Dublin. We started with one small idea for a "direct marketing" magazine and finished up being the leading trade publisher for the communications and emerging online space. Great fun - great people and happy memories.

  Very proud to have founded the first digital agency in Ireland. ICAN was a great experience and I loved being part of its history. I probably get a lot more credit than I should for this business - in the kingdom of the blind, the one eyed man is king. ICAN was the first company of its kind in Ireland and pre-dates most similar businesses in the UK.

The company branched out into event management and publishing activities in 2003 with the launch of several magazine titles including The Investor, Broadband, Click, Top Up and many others. Now the company operates as a holding entity for the Results International Group business in the Irish market.

  An interesting period of my life. Invited to join Moore Stephens (great bunch of guys) where I headed lead advisory and founded Moore's Global Corporate Finance Group. Then led the merger of our corporate finance team with BDO. (busy bunch of guys) Then rejoined Moore in London to lead technology and media deals. My accounting firm days are now behind me.
