      I am a recent transfer to sociology from Psychology, as I realized my passion for Social Work. With the rise of social problems, I feel this degree will prepare me for the years to come as I pick a place for my Masters in Social Work (MSW). As a Transfer, I have really found a passion and a new outlook on social institution conflicts, race, issues of socioeconomic stats, re-entry from incarceration, ethnic problems, etc...       As a Certified Caretaker in the Group Housing system for Northview Health Service, I tended to the needs of an individual who lives with Autism and a couple of other debilitating mental disorders that prevented him from being able to fully care for himself at home and in public.       I am passionate about the Non-Profit world...I have been in the non-profit world for a little under 5 years now. I have a passion for work with meaning and intentional care, I have been with an organization who specialized in therapeutic treatment for children 6-17and helped family build their intake paperwork, managed and worked alongside the respite providers, and promoted the level of care the patients needed. I am currently employed with Adam's Camp as a Program Manager of Adventure Camp. I have helped grow the program, create a solid sense of culture among the young temporary employees I hire (high school and college students and graduates), create meaningful partnerships to enhance the camp experience, and lastly, I have improved the financials of the program over the last two years and put that money into the welfare of Adventure Camp. I am always looking to advance my skillset so I can better the care I provide. Show less
