Soumitra worked on testing the initial implementation of diameter base protocol, making sure it worked in the various interop tests going on at that time. From there, he moved to testing geographical redundancy for GGSN, the feature which he took from the initial planning right to deployment. After that, he worked on the MPLS implementation, cradling this feature too from its small start to its deployment. He moved to the LTE PGW project and was the first person to test the product. The testing started from protocol conformance for the continually changing specs and call flows, to path management, to policy management using Gx, and then again, geographical redundancy.Moving to Cisco as a part of the Starent acquisition, Soumitra continued his work on the LTE PGW, leading teams for features such as LTE-3G/2G inter RAT handoff and Geographical redundancy for different products.
