  Following the completion of a majority shareholding acquisition in an upscale fashion retail company, assumed the positions of its general counsel and procuration holder. On top of legal support and representation in daily activities, there was a work under pressure of the shareholders' principled conflict. The most sophisticated part of the work was representing the company in a million-euro litigation on the right of liquidation sale under the trademark despite the franchisor’s objections — hopeless on merits, the case was won on procedural grounds.   Legal support and representation of a de-facto monopolist transhipment terminal for mineral fertiliser in the Free Port of Riga during a conflict between the shareholders of this business worth around $100 million.The assignment involved assuming the position of procuration holder, who happened to be the only authorised signatory of the company during an attempted hostile takeover. The defence solutions applied, among other maneuvers, included recourse to the Economic Crime Combat Department of the Latvian State Police. Show less
