    • University of Toronto

      Jul 2000 - Jul 2014
      Professor

Associate then Full Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Toronto, one of the largest in the world we developed several research streams spanning from the use of novel technology for the treatment of breast cancer with radiation (breast IMRT trial and permanent breast seed implant partial breast radiotherapy), the development of novel photon spectrum for ultra-high precision radiotherapy (iPet project) and the evaluation of gold nanoparticle as a radiosensitizer then as a novel type of unsealed brachytherapy source. Very close and prolific collaborations were established with the Victoria Cancer Centre and the Kelowna Cancer Centre in BC, the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Quebec, Carleton University and the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. • Delft University of Technology

      Apr 2015 - Mar 2018
Professor in Radiation Medicine, Department of Radiation Science & Technology

At the Reactor Institute of Delft we have set-up a research group focusing on the application of radioactive nanoparticles to medical conditions. Funded by a major grant from the HTSM and industry support we are aiming at developing radio-surgical ablative approach to treat cancer in a single one-stop shop combining the sciences of hyperthermia to brachytherapy.https://www.tudelft.nl/en/faculty-of-applied-sciences/about-faculty/departments/radiation-science-technology/

    • Dalhousie University

      Apr 2018 - Apr 2021
      Professor and Chair, Radiation Oncology

The Radiation Oncology Department at Dalhousie University is a vibrant group of 42 Faculty members, including 24 Radiation Oncologists, 17 Medical Physicists and 2 Therapists. We have 4 locations (Halifax, St John, Sydney and Charlottetown) covering the three Maritime provinces. There is a very strong research focus on technology and physics aiming at bridging the gap of access to care for patients living in remote area. This makes the department a prime collaborator for major industry in the field and an incubator of new ideas with global impact.https://www.dal.ca/academics/programs/graduate/medical-physics.html Show less

    • Accuray

      Apr 2021 - Mar 2023
SVP, Chief Medical and Technology Officer

Leading an international team of clinical trials, education and medical physics specialists, our group initiated several master research agreements with top global Universities after brainstorming sessions gathering international academic key opinions leaders. Those sessions led to several ground breaking clinical trials and inovations in imaging to cresate the next generation of radiation oncology treatments, changing radically the way patients are treated through image guided adaptive radiotherapy, ultra-hypofractionation and leveraging on biological effects like abscopal.
