  I really enjoyed my internship with the Smyrna Police Dept! Coming into this internship was the best decision I made, and I am so glad to have been apart of such an amazing team. They have shaped my mind to see what they do to protect and serve the community, allowing me to take the classroom knowledge and apply it to real life situations. This is my first experience in the Criminal Justice field and I have a better understanding of what is done. I was able to share these real world situations with my friends and family to help them better understand what police have to offer! I am prepared for beginnings and have narrowed down my options for what my next move will be. I’ve gained many connections, friends and a new support system. I am so excited for this next step that I’m taking because I know it’ll put me right where I want to be! I love that Sergeant Defense took out time to prepare and provide young adults like myself an opportunity to learn what most of us rarely experience. The diversity that’s within this department is amazing and I really enjoyed working with the other interns! I will always and forever be grateful for this amazing experience!!!
