      I am pursuing a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree in Innovation and Education Reform. I am starting my second year in the program, and have completed a number of interesting projects including a phenomenological study of middle science teachers' perceptions of teaching creativity. My research interests include STEAM education, teaching creativity and innovation in science, using authentic data in science education, and global awareness.

      I teach courses in physical sciences (chemistry, astronomy, geology, meteorology, astrobiology, science research, forensic science) and multimedia (3D animation, graphic design, desktop publishing, and video production). My students have created audio podcasts on astrobiology for the "365 Days of Astronomy" website, 3D animations on lunar features and origin for the NASA Lunar Science Institute, and a video lesson plan on stellar parallax for the MIT BLOSSOMS project.

I am part of the Teacher Innovator Institute at the National Air and Space Museum and a frequent presenter at state, regional, and national educator conferences.       Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms education ambassador to Indonesia; 2017. United States Department of State Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs Jun 2016 Received training on global awareness and traveled with 13 other teachers to Indonesia for four weeks in July, 2017 to teach science at a small high school near Banjarmasin in southern Borneo. Traveled to schools around Jakarta and learned about the Indonesian education system.
