      Daniel worked as an interior designer at Chinese import company Tegoushe. It is a Chinese company that specialises in importing food, wine and kitchen product. Tegoushe Import’s convenience stores layout and decoration Tegoushe had two retail convenience stores in the most financially charged areas in Beijing and Jinan. Daniel’s role was assistant interior designer and painter. His responsibility was to help with the interior and layout design, and decoration of the Beijing branch. The size of the team was 15 professionals.Daniel participated in AutoCAD drawing by assisting the Designer-in-chief. This store is located on the ground floor of an office building that hosts over 5,000 regular workers. Due to the enormous flow in morning and lunch break, the doors were designed to be full-open. Unlike most of the traditional Chinese supermarkets, the shelves that hold items, like lunch take away, with a high quantity of delivery were placed at the front and close to the tills. On the other hand, goods with a lower quantity of delivery were shelved close to the walls and the back. This idea was proved to be successful. Show less

      Daniel worked as a salesman, graphic designer, editor and copywriter at Chinese import company Tegoushe. His responsibility included designing campaign, graphics, and print, assisting making the website and copywriting. This company has over 70 full-time employees.Daniel was in charge of all the leaflets and some of the publications. He worked in a part of the sales promotion team on sites and gained an insight into the target clients. Daniel discovered that the nutrition facts listed on the then-previous leaflets were inadequate for gaining attention. He vocalised his suggestion to replace nutrition facts with a little story, fact or poem. The idea was agreed upon and carried out. It was proved successful by the increased sales of the promoted items. Daniel learnt the customer behaviour of the new Chinese middle class and how to deal with them. Show less

      London Focus Magazine is a start-up lifestyle publishing company funded by a real estate agent. It mainly targets the over 30s middle class who are based in London. Daniel’s role was graphic and layout designer, and editor. He was responsible for making its first publication within three months.The size of the team was four, which includes two journalists and one project manager. Two journalists were tasked with gaining new content for the publication by interviewing various people. Sometimes, they couldn’t get this information to him in time to design the layout for this magazine. Daniel proposed that the journalists should show me the questions for the interview and they can make a prediction of the amount of space needed for the publication and on the information he designed the layout. As a result, this enabled him to meet the deadline and made its first publication. Show less

      Daniel worked with British design and production company Millington Associates in producing retail windows for Apple at Selfridges, Oxford Street. His role in this project was a producer and builder. His responsibility included designing and manufacturing the props, building the retail windows, organise the production and collaborate with contractors in transportation.This project took a team of over 60 professionals to finish the project. Daniel made and decorated some small and medium flowers models. The 18 large flower models with a diameter of 2 metres were made with 3D printing technology.Daniel worked in a team and finished this process. In the end, he collaborated with contractors to finish the installation in Selfridges. Show less Daniel worked with Millington Associates on the project of Burberry’s retail windows at Harrods. His role in this project was a producer and builder. His responsibility included manufacturing the props, building the retail windows and organise transportation with contractors.It was a project finished by a team of 30 professional people including producers, product designers, prop makers, engineers, electricians, lighting technicians and contractors.Daniel cast some of the paint drip models and painted them. He participated in the process of the window layout design. At the end of this project, his team worked with a Burberry’s manager on details. Show less
