      Activities and Societies: My main activity outside my field of study is rugby. I am currently playing with Cork Constitution FC who compete in the top tier of Irish amateur rugby in the Ulster Bank all-Ireland League. I have always enjoyed playing rugby and competing at the highest level, having represented Munster at all age grade level from U18 to U20. I have also represented Ireland at both U18 and U19 age grades. My Degree provides a very broad skill set from the practical skills of Chemistry experiments to the theoretical complex problem solving skills of Quantum Mechanics. This course instills a diligent work ethic through its challenging modules and weekly assignments, a logical thoughtful approach when presented with a problem and a thoroughness to see it through to completion.

      Trained with elite players and coaches in their Cork facility, usually from 6:30am to 11am Monday through Friday. This involved daily skills, strength training and nutrition advice. Focused on the mental health of the professional player through talks about dealing with and overcoming adversity, goal setting and maintaining a growth mind-set.

      Design and application of colloidal photonic crystals to enhance the efficiency of solar cells as part of Professor Martyn Pemble's material research group.Involved research of scientific papers to develop synthesis of colloidal nano-particles through the Stober process.Data analysis of the solar cell measurements to ascertain their enhanced performance and areas of possible further optimisation.
