      Bridge Asset Management Section Chief-I currently serve as the Bridge Asset Management (BAM) Section Chief in the Bureau of Maintenance and Operations, Highway Administration Deputate of PennDOT. This management position consists of leading a team of Professional Engineers, data scientists, software developers and consultant support staff who all work together to create and maintain software to help meet the federal requirements of achieving lowest life cycle cost for our assets through project selection, summarized in our tag line “the right treatment at the right time”. The BAM section is responsible for monitoring and reporting statewide summary bridge conditions, setting and monitoring TPM-2 Federal targets and goals, and the creation, implementation and maintenance of PennDOT’s Bridge Asset Management System (BAMS). BAMS provides real time, data driven and financially constrained recommended project outputs from our core software, Infrastructure Asset Management (iAM) Bridge Care. The open-source, PennDOT-specific Bridge Care program utilizes a BAM-developed, organizationally global approach to risk and funding with detailed regional considerations for condition, needs and preference to create an optimized, prioritized and financially constrained list of recommended bridge projects for Districts and Planning Partners.In Agile terms, the BAM Section Chief serves as the product owner/active stakeholder, domain expert and gold owner for BAMS, prioritizing the overall workflow for each update, providing technical expertise on bridge asset management and providing financing for the project and subsequent updates.PennDOT Asset Management EngineerI also serve as the PennDOT Asset Management Engineer (AME) in the same organization. This position is responsible for development and delivery of the Transportation Asset Management Plan (TAMP), as well as key management tools utilized for the TAMP, including a global asset risk framework and scoring mythology.
