      Activities and Societies: Engineering enrichment - as a team I helped design a vehicle which could transport a 1 tonne load from the North Pole to the South Pole. Robotics enrichment - I am in a much larger team this time but in a smaller more specific group working on the chassis and body work of a robot which Computer Aided Design enrichment - learnt how to use the software SOLIDWORKS to design parts and assemblies Apprenticeships and Employability enichment - learnt more about finding and gaining a career

      Apprentice Electrician

      I helped two other electricians take down Halogen lights and their fittings, then replace them with more efficient LED versions.I was tasked with helping take down the units from the ceiling, disposing of them too.Then repainting and plastering parts of the ceiling which had not been seen for a while which looked very bad.I then helped make and put up the new LED units, this involved putting together the hanging cables to attch them to the ceiling, drill into the ceiling to fill them in and then watch the testing process using multimeters to test that there was a low enough resitance to the earth cable.This whole experience allowed me to see what a real working day would look like in an Engineering environment as well a giving me more skills especially when it came to the fitting of the units.
