      On the MA I focused my dissertation on Virtual Reality (VR) and Shakespeare. I dissected how Shakespeare can be used, why is works in VR and the challenges of using VR with an audience. My other lines of research were the use of live theatre broadcasting and how it impacts the perception of the performance and if it gives the audiences a true experience of a live theatre performance. I was also awarded ‘Famous for service’ by the head office for complementary feedback a customer left about the care and service provided by me.

      The Students' Union is a multi-million-pound turnover business that has three multi-use venues, they cater for different student activities such as theatre productions and club nights.While in in this position I was awarded two ‘Value awards’ for my hard work and dedication to the team. In this role I had to;- Ensure the safety of Bar, Security staff and Customers- Effectively communicate with all teams - Guarantee the highest standard of customer service- Stock control and stock counts- Cash up, banking of the daily take and use of petty cash log- Ensure the premise and club licence requirements were always adhered to- Motivate the team and lead by example.- Proactively problem solve any issues that arise on shift- Creation of purchase order logs- Use of Fidelity’s EPoS back-office suite Total Control Premier (TCP) - Use of Rota Cloud to edit staffs shifts and report sickness/absences- Fire marshal and emergency first aider- Comply to health and safety such as RIDDOR and COSHH- Set up riders and ensuring performers were looked after through-out the night.- Communicate customers about bookings of venues and events. Show less The role of the supervisor was divided into two main positions, Door Supervisor and IC. In these roles I had oversight of the security team and the venue. I made sure the venue did not go over capacity, helped customers, dealt with any complains that might arise and resolve conflicts between customers, ejecting them if necessary. I also had to communicate with the tech team and bar supervisor to ensure that the venue was prepared to open and to assist venue management in meeting the criteria of the premise and club license. Show less In the role of security I worked in the Students union late night events, It was my job to ensure the safety of the students such as making sure they didn't become overly intoxicated or if they did remove them from the venue and make sure they were okay and ensured they had a safe way of getting home. We had to use Radio protocol and codes to communicate effectively within the team and help the supervisors with the upkeep of health and safety.The role also included helping set up the venue for the event. By creating the outside perimeter with Heras fences, setting up the pit barrier on the dance floor and conducting health and safety checks before the event starts and at the end of the night taking all of this down and performing the checks again to make sure the building was safe and ready to open the next day.       Pastoral Tutor

      The main duties of a pastoral tutor are teaching groups of 20 to 30 college students and cover a variety of subjects which are outside of the students academic program. Some of the subjects that are taught are Budgeting and Finance, Employability skills and drug awareness. We also conduct 1 to 1's with the students so I can find out their current struggles at college and their future plans I can help put the steps in place to make sure they get the help they need and are heading in the right direction for their future careers.       As a Progress Coach, I work with 18 groups of students in Level 1, 2 and 3 courses. I have an hour of group coaching sessions each week. In these sessions, we work on pastoral topics such as mental wellbeing and we also work subjects that will help them progress into their chosen careers by building skills and attributes such as professionalism and confidence. I liaise with the Careers Team to ensure the students have progression plans for the students next steps for work, university, or another course. Show less In this role, I help with events and enrichment for students at Reading College as well as Bracknell and Wokingham College. This includes helping research and find resources for events then delivering events for the students. I supervise the Students' Unions and Student Representatives as part of a Learner Voice program. I also helped with the creation of an attendance program to help students with low attendance. This aims to retain and safeguard the students. As part of this project, I have created an Excel workbook which tracks how successful the program is at achieving its aims. This was rolled out across the whole group of colleges. I have become the go to person for all technical requirements for my team. Show less

      I create, manage, and deliver education projects where I facilitate talks, tours, workshops and work experience placements for school, college and university students. I am the main point of contact for all schools and educational institutions, and I am responsible for generating new relationships and promoting the Oxford Playhouse programme. I create and administrate evaluation reports, collect data, and assist with reporting procedures to funders. I project manage two flagship projects which are Primary Playmaker and Oxford Playhouse Plays Out tour. Primary Playmaker is a 10-week script writing programme for Key Stage 2 pupils, which aims to bring back creative education in Primary Schools, this project ends with a showcase of select scripts from each class and all participants are invited to watch. Oxford Playhouse Plays out tour is an educational Family Theatre tour to schools and communities who cannot reach Oxford Playhouse, at the school’s we run educational workshops are held for each school year to carry on the learning from the show.
