    • King's Academy, Jordan

      Aug 2015 - Jun 2018
      Upper School English Teacher

King's is an independent day and boarding school founded by King Abdullah II of Jordan to be a Middle Eastern sibling to Deerfield Academy in Greenfield, Ma. (where he was a student in the 1970's). It's purpose is to educate young men and women to be transformative leaders in civic, social, political, academic, and artistic fields. In 2018 there were students from 37 countries—57% from Jordan. All students are admitted based on their achievements and goals and 45% receive generous financial aid. I was honored to be part of a team of learned and motivated international educators, working with small groups of students on a stunning campus setting to fulfill the school's mission in the Middle East and beyond. I spent three years teaching English Literature (AP and Honors) to Seniors. Here is a link to the address I gave at the King's Academy Senior Graduation dinner in May 2016.https://youtu.be/hGjKPSjVHr0 Show less
