      Contracted as technical support to the National Oceanographic Atmospheric Administration's External Source Data team. Duties include data discovery related to ongoing projects, processing hydrographic data from non-NOAA sources, assessing data quality, writing technical documents, creating cartographic products using hydrographic data, communicating technical information, and maintenance of project metadata.

      Serving as a Software Developer contracted to the U.S Department of Transportation's Federal Railroad Administration Office of Safety Analysis. Responsibilities include contributions to each phase of the software development lifecycle for a mission critical information system comprised of several software applications using various technologies. Contributions include full stack software development, systems analysis and design, analysis of stakeholder feedback, debugging legacy code, and robust systems testing. The work is accomplished alongside a team of highly skilled developers and helpdesk/IT professionals, and by adhering to software development standards, using dynamic reporting tools to provide important feedback on customer data, and constant communication with business analysts and software stakeholders. Our core mission is to maintain and support development of the program’s data intensive applications in a SAFE5 scaled agile development environment. Show less Currently, I provide analytical support to the Federal Railroad Administration's Project Office in charge of maintaining the Grade Crossing Inventory System, the Rail Accidents and Incidents Reporting System, and several other systems directly related to the Federal Railroad Administration Office of Safety. My work includes direct communication with all stakeholders (Railroad, State, Federal, Local and Public entities) with regards to our mission of data stewardship, collaboration, and project enrichment. I am responsible for having an in depth knowledge of reporting requirements as defined by the FRA, US Code of Federal Regulations, and ISO content standards.I also work closely with our internal team of software developers in an Agile Environment providing analytical support, troubleshooting software, and ensuring data integrity throughout all stages of the software development lifecycle. Show less In this position I provided technical GIS support to U.S Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Specifically pertaining to the maintenance of the National Transportation Atlas Database, a collection of over 80 datasets all related to transportation infrastructure, the flow of goods and people, and inherent information.I helped develop the systems and workflow to maintain the metadata of new layers added to the NTAD collection via programmatic XML manipulation, adherence to ISO metadata content standards, and the continual publishing of metadata files alongside data via RESTful web services.
