  My responsibilities ranged from paperwork to giving a tour of the campus. I was part of team of 24 leaders who all had the responsibility of introducing DePaul University to the incoming freshman. We dealt with over 2,700 people in two and a half months, quite successfully if I do say so myself. There were folders to organize, rooms to assign, people to direct, problems to solve, guest to entertain, parents to deal with, students to direct, questions to answer, advice to share, and tours to give all in the span of 42 hours.   Student supervisor for DePaul Telefund in the Office of Advancement. As a part of the Chicago Quarter Program for first year students, Chicago Quarter Mentors (CQMs) serve as a resource for new students through their transition to DePaul. In partnership with their assigned Chicago Quarter Staff Professional, CQMs work closely with the students and deliver the Common Hour Discussion during each class. CQMs work collaboratively to plan, deliver, and facilitate the broader curriculum of the assigned course and are a peer resource in and out of the classroom.

  During my time at AESHS, I took over as a maternity substitute for two sections of high school physics and two sections of Advanced Placement physics for the second semester of the 2017-2018 school year. I then proctored AP exams and worked as a science department substitute for the last month of the school year, working in science classes ranging from environmental science to AP Chemistry.

  I taught two sections of high school physics and two sections of computer integrated manufacturing with both junior and senior-level students. I developed a rigorous, project-based curriculum for both courses with a focus on experiential and peer-to-peer learning. My students worked to build a better understanding of how the world works with each other every day and know that they will have fun, be curious, and work hard in my class.

  STEP UP 4 Women Ambassadors are volunteer high school physics teachers that will train others on how to effectively reduce barriers for women in physics by using STEP UP 4 Women lesson materials in their classroom. The goal of the Ambassador Program is to create a community of physics teachers dedicated to improving inclusive practices in the classroom by propagating research-based lesson plans to physics teachers in order to encourage more women to pursue a physics degree.
