      May 2018 - Aug 2018
      Project Engineer Intern

As a project engineer intern, I gained experience in the field and in the office. In the office I learned how to design pipeline crossings in AutoCAD and helped design a project the company began when I went back to school. I also learned how to write project manager reports and the basics behind budgeting a project. In the field, I learned how to survey the pipeline right-of-way and eventually gained my confined space entry training so I could survey inside the pipe. I spent time out in the shop and assisting the laborers on site. I learned a lot about pipe installation in oil and gas and enjoyed learning engineering at a larger scale. Show less

      Construction Intern

As a construction intern, I was located on site of a grade separation project alongside two field engineers. From them, I enhanced my surveying skills and learned proper documentation of the work performed in the field. I attended weekly meetings with the project's CM and became familiar with contract linguistics and the relationship between management and engineering teams. I updated project plans and conducted inventory in the warehouse on site utilizing Bluebeam and AutoCAD. I furthered my understanding of the basics of field engineering and after this experience, could confidently navigate the fast-paced environment of working on a construction site. Show less

      Construction Engineer Intern

In this role, I spent most of my time working on drawings and plans needed for bid projects. I gained experience in AutoCAD by learning how to create professional drawings for construction processes and refining plans to perfection. I also became familiar with Revit and Risa 3D, which enhanced my drawing capabilities and enabled me to model loads and potential failure for bridge structures to more accurately demonstrate construction operations. I worked closely with Junior engineers in the office and was exposed to multiple kinds of work and projects. Show less

      Jul 2021 - Aug 2022
      Field Engineer

I worked as a field engineer on the State of Colorado Captiol Repair/Replace Plumbing & Subbasement Systems project. I expanded on my knowledge of field engineering with survey, documentation, quality control, and safety regulation as well as developed superintendent skills such as coordinating subcontractors and materials and project management skills such as scheduling, issuing contracts/change orders, and budgeting for payment applications. Working in the subbasement of the Denver Capitol building presented numerous challenges and has provided me a unique work environment to learn tricks of the construction trade. I learned a lot and am proud to have played a part of this project. Show less
