  My project work on "Study and Simulation of Quadrupole Magnets and some further work with permanent magnets". I learnt some fundamental concepts regarding accelerators and their components, as well as the essential operating principles of various accelerating and focusing elements that are required in any accelerator beamline. Given a beam dynamical need for a quadrupole magnet,construct a quadrupolemagnet. The design work consists of solving basic equations, optimising the role profile in "2D Poisson Superfish code. " Effective length optimisation using "3-D FEA code in COMSOL Software". Magnetic field mapping using a 3-axes Hallprobe of a similar magnet, already developed in VECC. Show less
