  The Markens Group works with nonprofit trade associations and professional societies. It’s my job to tell their stories: how these groups build community, champion their industry or profession, and help their members network and grow. We work in several different industries, so I strive to make sure the message, voice, and content we deliver all serve to achieve our clients’ unique goals. I develop and execute content calendars that tie back to communications/marketing objectives. Content includes blogs, e-newsletters, social media, magazine articles, press releases/media content, white papers, email marketing, and website copy. Show less I oversaw the management of a manufacturing trade association, serving internally as account manager and externally as the association's Executive Director. I worked with the Board of Directors to set strategy, oversee financials, and procure sponsorship.The association has an annual conference in different locations in the U.S., so event planning was also a significant part of the job. I executed hotel contracts, procured speakers, and worked with vendors—all of the logistical areas necessary for putting on a successful event. Show less
