  I've always been a hands-on learner and my wine company is a prime example of that. I started my brand with 150 pounds of Sangiovese grapes from the Lucas and Lewellen Vineyard in Santa Barbara County. I foot stomped them and fermented them in a food-grade brute (trash can) in my backyard in Echo Park, Los Angeles. The following year I moved two hours North to the Santa Ynez Valley to pursue winemaking and grape growing full-time. By 2020 I had purchased a couple of neutral oak barrels, started renting space in an urban winery, and began purchasing organic fruit and processing it myself. In 2021, in addition to making my wines, I started leasing a small parcel of land with 30+ year-old Tempranillo vines which I tended to and made wine from for the 2022 and 2023 harvest. I successfully marketed and sold the wines I made and have cultivated a group of fans, followers, and repeat customers. In 2024, my family and I moved across the country and returned home to Michigan in search of a home vineyard and farm. I believe that the future of wine lies in PiWi varieties and regenerative agriculture. In 2024 we will begin making wine with Michigan-grown fruit with the goal of establishing our organic farm and vineyard as soon as possible. Show less
