  We visited three lakes in Chennai - The Poondi lake, The Chembarambakkam lake, and the Puzhal lake. We were briefed about the hydraulic structures present there and the different features of the water body, its path traversed and the different areas served by the water body. Near the Poondi Dam, models of the topography of Chennai city were present which were used to predict the areas which will be affected due to any intensity of rains.

  The one-week In-plant training at CPCL, Manali gave us a live knowledge as to how the company works and the different processes going on in the refinery. The program involved lectures on the different areas of engineering which come in use at CPCL and also the characteristics of the products obtained. These were followed by site visits to the plant with all necessary safety measures and it was overall, very useful.

  Experiential Learning Module (ELM) Project

  - Established a training centre in Kurimpangulam village in Tamil Nadu to empower the rural graduates- Raised Rs. 55,000 in one month for the project through a crowdfunding campaign- Developed a 120-day curriculum to train 20 rural graduates in life skills and provide them career guidance and mentorship- Visited the training centre and conducted a week-long learning series and interacted with the students to understand their aspirations, learning goals and needs- Interacted with the parent community as well in the village to understand how we can approach our training centre better - Won the Outstanding ELM Project Award during Convocation out of over 90 projects Show less
