      My role within the Structures team included:• M56 Junction 7 Bowden View Bridge Replacement Scheme – Assisted in the design of a two-span reinforced concrete and steel composite bridge deck over the M56. The bridge deck was lifted into place after construction in an adjacent field. Authored an abutment principal inspection report to ascertain viability of re-use including site supervision of concrete testing.• Hill End Retaining Wall Replacement – Designed pre-cast and cast-in-place reinforced concrete retaining walls. Responsible for all construction drawings, health and safety documentation and contractor liaison.• Leeds County Council Principal and Special Inspections – Completed several principal and special inspections on bridges in Leeds. Responsible for the principal and special inspection on the bridge, preparation of inspection reports included Bridge Condition Index forms and recommended repair regime.• A65 Retaining Walls Feasibility Study – Completed a feasibility study on the suitability of different retaining solutions on the A65 trunk road. Responsibilities included walkover survey, preparation of the feasibility report, design of five different types of retaining wall and close liaison with geotechnical engineers.• Experienced with steel, concrete and composite design of small-span bridges, culverts, retaining walls and communication masts to both British Standards and Eurocodes.• Authored structural approval documents for the Highways Agency and local authorities, requiring extensive client liaison.• Experienced with design and analysis software such as LUSAS, SCALE, SAM, SuperSTRESS and MathCAD.       As part of my promotion I was given another role in the team, as a Team Leader looking after a group of 15No. bridges in the CEFA Year 5 Workbank. This included:• Project managing the completion of the Assessment of 15No. bridges through the LNW Route. This includes planning, organising and attending site visits on Network Rail infrastructure and highway based work, managing the completion of a 3 stage Assessment Report and associated calculations of Under, Over and Intersection Railways bridges of various forms, spans and material types.• Completion of bridge assessments to Network Rail, British Standard and DMRB codes of practice using excel spreadsheets and hand calculations. • Liaison, organisation and management of special intrusive inspections of railways bridges to ascertain bridge element dimensions for use in Assessment calculations.• Special examination of CNH3-154 - Britannia Bridge between Wales and Anglesey, assisting with examination of the rail level of all spans.• Assisting with re-bid of CEFA contract, including pricing for Vehicle Incursion Inspections of railways overbridges. Authoring of Bridge Assessment Reports including bridge condition reporting with recommended improvements. • Completion of both intrusive and non-intrusive Hidden Critical Element (HCE) Examinations, which included management of site teams, examination of various bridge forms and their associated HCE.
